StoryWalk® is an innovative, fun, and educational activity that places a children’s storybook along a walking route in the community. It helps inspire and build children’s and adults’ reading while encouraging healthy outdoor activity.
Join us and celebrate the new StoryWalk® on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with free ice treats, giveaways, and outdoor reading.
Visitors will read the illustrated story “Planting a Rainbow” by Lois Ehlert as they walk to each of the 16 reading stations along the trail. StoryWalk® is a free activity for Irmo residents accessible during regular park hours.
This StoryWalk® is funded by the Ivy Heritage Foundation and Irmo Music Academy.
StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
